There was a lot of movement in Boynton Beach during the Let’s Move: Commit to Change Physical Activity Challenge in March!
The county-wide initiative focused on physical activity, nutrition and healthy behaviors. Palm Health Foundation, in partnership with Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Children’s Services Council, Wisehaupt, Bray Asset Management and CBS12, sponsored the annual challenge, which took place throughout the month of March.
Healthier Boynton Beach teamed up with other Boynton Beach organizations to come in fifth – yes, fifth! – among 400 teams! Our City of Boynton Beach team logged more than one million minutes of movement among the participants. In all, the Let’s Move initiative logged more than 32 million minutes of movement.
Our group organized two fitness activities: 1) the Yoga In The Park event in Boynton Beach had nearly 20 people participated, and 2) the Family Fitness Day drew more than 200 people to take part in fitness fun as well as music and other activities.
Ricky Petty, project director for Healthier Boynton Beach, said, “We are all about health and wellness – and we really encouraged our residents to stay active and participate in daily physician activities.”
Don’t stop moving – remain active daily!
