Education & Awareness: Share to Care
Zeta Pearl Foundation’s Share to Care program (STC) promotes awareness and provides education about the impact of family caregiving on the life of the family caregiver. The program hosts bi-monthly seminars during which individuals who are family caregivers or part of the social network of family caregivers share a meal in a relaxing environment.
STC develops a greater understanding and appreciation of the role of family caregiving with individuals who are family caregivers, as well as, with those persons with whom the family caregiver interacts socially.
The seminars cover the following topics:
– The Social Impact of Family Caregiving on the Family Caregiver: participants discuss how caregiving can change the life of the family caregiver.
– The Value of Support to the Family Caregiver: participants discuss how family and friends can work collaboratively as they empathize and support the family caregiver.
– Ways in Which Family Caregiving Increases Stress: participants discuss the possible stressors that accompany the role of family caregivers and identify and practice stress relief strategies.
– When Caregiving Comes Your Way: participants share and receive information about agencies and community resources.

In addition, the organization has worked with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (Veterans’ Day Program); St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church (Homeless Coalition Program and Filling the Pantry); and Spady Museum (Community-wide Kwanzaa Program).
Zeta Pearl Foundation provides charitable services in the areas of education and leadership development for the community. For the past several years, Zeta Pearl Foundation, Inc. has partnered with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. to implement programs to improve long-term conditions for the residents of south Palm Beach County. These programs include Eldercare (Lakeview Nursing Home), Filling the Pantry (St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church), Kwanzaa (Spady Museum) and serving the needy (Straghn and Son Thanksgiving Outreach). The organization also provides some financial assistance for graduating local high school seniors who are pursuing post high school education.
