How do we create racial equality in our community?

Let’s start by talking.

That’s exactly what the Racial Equality Workshop accomplished on February 6-7 in Boynton Beach.

More than 40 people attended the event, including Boynton Beach Mayor Steven Grant.

The two-day workshop encouraged participants to approach race and equality from different perspectives  or “different lens,” said Ricky Petty, project director at Healthier Boynton Beach.

Ricky added: “We looked at how we can continue this conversation and put into action what we discussed so we can make better decisions on how we interact with people of other ethnicities.”

More frank conversations about race and equality will continue in the community in the coming months, he said.
